Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and the OTZ Tension Adjustment
In the summer of 2007 doctor Francis X. Murphy publicly reported that he had developed a theory related to the condition called Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. This theory led doctor Murphy to a procedure, which was designed to challenge his theory. Doctor Murphy named his procedure, the One to Zero Tension Adjustment. After the One to Zero Tension Adjustment had been applied to several Frozen Shoulder Syndrome patients there was no doubt that a new era in Frozen Shoulder was about to emerge. In each case doctor Murphy observed a dramatic improvement, as did the Frozen Shoulder patients. Whole Health Partners has published some of the videos of our patients to show other patients and doctors some of the possibilities using the One to Zero Tension Adjustment.
Frequently asked questions:
What exactly is the One to Zero Tension Adjustment?
The One to Zero Tension Adjustment is a complex series of chiropractic adjustments. These adjustments are performed in a specific order. The procedure is different for every Frozen Shoulder Syndrome patient, depending on findings during the exam. Each exam exposes neurological weaknesses, which must be addresses with therapy. The One to Zero Tension Adjustment followed by the specific therapies assigned to your case is the fastest path to full resolution.
Does the One to Zero Tension Adjustment hurt?
Our patients report the procedure to be comfortable. Some of the more severe cases site the treatment as being uncomfortable, but very tolerable. The initial visit usually lasts approximately ninety (90) minutes. Follow-up visits last up to forty-five (45) minutes.
What is the cost of the One to Zero Tension Adjustment?
The chiropractic provisions of typical health insurance policies reimburse most of the treatments performed at Whole Health Partners. Our staff can help determine what portion of your bill will be covered by your health insurance company.
The first visit is the most costly visit. Here are costs that are typically seen with a first visit:

Frozen Shoulder Syndrome Update: Nov. 2007
Dallas Doctor Reports Results Following One to Zero Tension Adjustment
In July of 2007 doctor Francis X. Murphy reported his early promising results using a new procedure for the condition known as “Frozen Shoulder Syndrome”. Since that time many people from all over the United States have traveled to Dallas, Texas to participate in an ongoing study of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and to be treated by doctor Murphy. All of the participants in the Frozen Shoulder Syndrome study were required to have been diagnosed with Frozen Shoulder Syndrome by a currently licensed medical doctor. The purpose of the study was to identify the cause of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and to resolve it using the One to Zero Tension Adjustment and protocols. The reported clinical outcomes and videotape evidence which substantiate the reported outcomes is nothing short of phenomenal.
Doctor Murphy reports that Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is a neurological disorder. The pain and considerable stiffness is worsened if you struggle to restore and create movement with physical therapy, exercises or forced passive (assisted) motion types of therapy. Many of these therapies can be very useful after the neurological condition has been broken.
The study has revealed two distinct types of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome which doctor Murphy identifies as type 1 and type 2. The differences between the two disorders are described below.
Type 1. Immediately following the One to Zero Tension Adjustment the patients, both men and women, are immediately able to raise their arm above their head. Some small compensatory muscular changes require work but the job is easily handled in 3 to 4 follow up visits. The pain is more than 75% reduced within 24 hours.
Type 2. Immediately following the One to Zero Tension Adjustment the patient is able to raise the arm significantly higher, usually a 60% to 80% increased abduction of the shoulder is observed. These patients however should expect to have 2 to 3 times the work and time to achieve full recovery. There is still some pain and significant chance for backsliding. These patients should expect steady improvement with each visit (about 10) over a 4 to 5 week period.
Frozen Shoulder Syndrome sufferers are in such pain that they naturally assume that they will be a Type 2, but that is not the likelihood. Just the opposite is true, you are more likely to have the type 1 version.
Until doctors begin to practice in a location near you, doctor Murphy will continue treating patients for Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and related conditions at Whole Health Partners in Dallas Texas. For an appointment contact Susan Hayes @ 214-368-3030.
