Help Your Patients Avoid Diabetes: 95% Unidentified
Prediabetes affects one in three adults across the United States. Yet it often goes undetected and untreated.
In fact, a 2022 paper published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine discovered that just 5.4% of patients who screened positive for pre-diabetes received a formal diagnosis. And of those 5.4%, none received appropriate treatment.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. Because we apply our practical, comprehensive approach to lifestyle medicine to every patient we work with, we are often able to detect, treat and even reverse the development of prediabetes before it leads to serious health issues.
